Five people were killed today by an unidentified militant group in Oromia region, Western Welega,  Nejo Woreda. According to the report of Oromia communication office among the killed two were foreigners.

Welega has been stroked with insecurities for the last couple of months, Banks were robbed, people were killed, and many were displaced. One of the reasons given to this insecurity was a number of armed soldiers of Oromo Liberal Front (OLF) residing in the eastern and western areas of Wolega. But it was reported last year that more than 1,000 members of the OLF gave up arms and agreed to undergo rehabilitation. It is still unknown that today’s incident has any connection with OLF or not.
