Who We Are
Addis Insight is Ethiopia’s fastest-growing digital news platform, founded in 2019 to bridge the information gap between Ethiopia’s rapidly evolving business, technology, and cultural landscape and the global audience eager to understand it.
We are an independent media organization based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, staffed by journalists, analysts, and storytellers who live and work in the communities we cover. Our reporting is rooted in on-the-ground observation, direct interviews with founders and policymakers, and a deep understanding of Ethiopia’s social and economic context.
Our Mission
To deliver accurate, timely, and contextual coverage of Ethiopia’s transformation — from startup ecosystems and fintech innovation to policy shifts and cultural movements — so that Ethiopians at home and in the diaspora, as well as international stakeholders, can make informed decisions.

Sourcing & Verification
We rely on primary sources — direct interviews, official statements, regulatory filings, and on-site reporting. When we reference secondary sources, we link to them transparently. Anonymous sources are used only when necessary for the public interest and are verified by at least one editor.
