Man Found Dead In Southern Ethiopia Tested Positive For Covid-19

A 55-year-old man was found dead in the Kaffa Zone of the Southern region and tested positive for the coronavirus. The zone’s communication office reported on Sunday that the man’s body was sent to Addis Ababa for investigation and confirmed that the case was COVID-19.

 

The person from Kafa, the zone 457km from the capital Addis Ababa, had a travel history neither from abroad nor from Addis Ababa. Also, he hasn’t left the Zone recently.

 

According to the local communication office, more than 30 people who had in contact with the person had been identified and taken to a quarantine center at Bonga University.

The man’s death was included in the #82nd report of the Ministry of Health on Sunday on which a total of three deaths had been reported.

 

Over 1,200 confirmed cases have been reported in Ethiopia and 11 have died. Addis Ababa takes the majority share of the confirmed cases so far and other regions of Ethiopia reported cases except for Gambella.
