Haile Gebrselassie, Ethiopian Olympic champion runner, has inaugurated the 7th Haile Resort located in Adama town,  with a half-billion birr cost.

The new resort located 80km southeast of Addis Ababa, according to the State-affiliated media FBC report, has 106 guest rooms, gymnasiums, swimming pools, dining, and meeting halls.

Haile said during the inauguration ceremony, the new resort that has employed more than 300 people will provide 4 to 5-star rating services.

The construction took two years to complete, and Haile planned to finish three more resorts under construction in the coming new year.

In June, angry protestors attacked Haile resort hotels in two cities of the Oromia region. They destroyed 350 million birr estimated worth of property.

Yet, after two months, he inaugurated the new hotel 110 km away from one of the attacked hotels in Ziway.

Two Olympic and five-time world champion became a prominent businessman making investments in agriculture, automotive, and hospitality sectors in Ethiopia after he retired from athletics in 2015.
