Abraha Desta, the leader of Arena Tigray for Sovereignty and Democracy Party and the head of the Tigray Regional State Interim Administration Bureau of Labor and Social Affairs, has been released today. Abraha Desta announced on his official Facebook page, “After 82 days I was released on bail of 10,000 birr. Thank you so much for standing by me. ” He said.
Abraha said he was released on bail of 10,000 birr, although he did not say anything about his stay in prison. Abraha Desta was arrested on Thursday, September 28, 2021. He had written an open letter to the mayor of Addis Ababa on his Facebook page regarding the arbitrary arrest and detention of Tigrayans a day before his arrest.
