EthioForum editor a Yayesew Shimeles was arrested by security forces earlier today at around 1:00 PM. According to his lawyer Ato Tadele Gebremedehen, Yayesew was taken to a police station near Yeka Abadu by four civilian dressed security forces.

Later, the security forces took Yayesew to  the third police station. It is learned that neither the lawyer nor his family have been able to contact him personally.

In recent weeka there has been an active crackdown on journalists who are mainly operating online. The latest arrest rise the number of journalists who are jailed to 12. Earlier today Feteh magazine editor was arrested by security forces.
