Details: An alternative date has been set for tomorrow to issue an order on the case of five journalists and media owners

The Federal Court of First Instance has set an alternative date for the hearing of the case of five journalists and media owners. Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7; Media professionals scheduled for 2022 are Temesgen Desalegn, Yayesew Shimeles, Maeza Mohammed, Meskerem Abera and Solomon Shumye.

Prior to the Federal Court of First Instance’s scheduled hearing, the investigating police provided details of what they said they had done during the authorized investigation. The court also heard arguments and bail requests from lawyers representing the media, based on police statements.

The Addis Ababa Police Commission stated in a previous court hearing that all five journalists were suspected of “inciting violence.” The suspects’ case is being heard in separate cases.
