The Ethiopian national football team defeated Egypt 2-0 in tonight’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Dawa Hotesa scored in the 21st minute and Shimeles Bekele scored in the 40th minute of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at Malawi Bingu National Stadium.

Following on the victory of the Ethiopian and Guinean national teams, all the members of the division scored 3 points each.

Accordingly, the Ethiopian national team started leading the division with three points and one goal.

The Ethiopian national team, which is in Group 4 of the qualifiers, lost to Malawi 2-1 a few days ago, while the Egyptian national team defeated Guinea 1-0 in the first qualifying match.

The President of the Ethiopian Football Federation, Isaias Jira, said in a statement: “We are proud that you have won this very important game.

The federation also announced that it has decided to give a prize of 2 million birr to the team for its victory in today’s match.
