Ethiopian Airlines has announced the resumption of regular flights between Addis Ababa and Mekelle, following the peace agreement between the federal government and the TPLF. Aviation workers have assured the airline that Mekelle Airport is in good condition for flights, and the company will operate a single flight per day in response to customer demand. Works are also underway to resume flight operations at all airports in the Tigray region.

Ethiopian Airlines CEO Mesfin Tasew stated that the resumed flights will create a great opportunity for the people of Tigray to reunite and will promote social and economic benefits. The CEO also highlighted the significant role that humanitarian donations from vendors and other sources have played in properly building the necessary facilities.
