Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — A large-scale development initiative known as the “Addis Ababa University Village” has been officially announced, marking the beginning of a ten-year project that aims to transform a key area of the capital into a center for education, research, tourism, and community life.

The planned village will be located between several well-known landmarks: it will be bordered by Shiro Meda shopping center to the north, Abrahot Library to the south, the Genfle and Kebena rivers to the east, and the Kechene River to the west.

According to the preliminary outline, the Addis Ababa University Village will include:
