The National Digital Identity Program Office has officially launched a mobile application that integrates Faida digital identity services. Developed entirely in-house by the program office, the application is now available for public use on both Android and iOS platforms.

In a statement, Ebenezer Feleke, Communications and Public Relations Officer of the National Digital Identity Program Office, announced that the new application will enable users who have lost or not yet received their Faida number to retrieve it instantly.

Additionally, the app allows users to obtain and download their Faida digital identity in a secure and convenient manner. Before its release, the application underwent extensive testing and received a qualification certificate from the Information Security Service, ensuring its compliance with security standards.

One of the key features of the application is its ability to facilitate demographic updates. Users can now correct inaccurate personal information, update their address and email, and manage other changes without needing to visit a physical service center. This enhancement aims to improve accessibility and streamline identity management.

According to Ebenezer Feleke, the application is designed for ease of use, enabling users to print and store their Faida digital ID in card format, request card printing, submit feedback or complaints, and access customer support services. He emphasized that the app, along with other customer portals, was developed by in-house experts at the National Digital Identity Program Office, marking a significant achievement for the institution.

The app is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The launch represents a major milestone in modernizing Faida services, addressing customer concerns more efficiently, and enhancing accessibility for millions of residents.

The initiative aligns with Ethiopia’s Digital Strategy 2025, which prioritizes the adoption of digital identity solutions. To date, over 12 million citizens have registered for digital identity services, with institutions leveraging these systems to provide streamlined and secure services.
