The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has issued a statement regarding the illegal appointment of bishops within the church. In the statement, His Holiness called for an urgent gathering of Popes from both within Ethiopia and abroad to convene at the Patriarchate in the coming days. He emphasized the importance of addressing this issue in a timely and organized manner to ensure the preservation of the integrity and unity of the Church.

Furthermore, His Holiness also placed blame on the government for its role in allowing such illegal appointments to take place and called on them to take legal responsibility for the damage caused to the Church. He also emphasized that the harm caused to the Church will ultimately have a detrimental effect on the country as a whole.

In light of this situation, His Holiness urged the faithful and members of the Church to continue to offer prayers and remain steadfast in their faith.
