Athlete Derartu Tulu becomes the first Sub-Saharan African women to lead athletics federation. Her appointment comes right after Athlete Haile Gebreselassie submitted his resignation this week.
Two times Olympic gold medalist Derartu Tulu has been serving as vice-president for the athletic federation. For the coming two years the athlete will be leading the federation as interim-president.
