Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed has appeared on television today after announcing that he will lead the army.

In a brief statement to the media, the Prime Minister stated that Kasagita had been captured, an area that was seized by the TPLF.

He announced that the army he was leading was making great strides, promising to capture Chifra and Burka in the coming days. The areas are located in the Afar region.

The areas were captured by the rebel group TPLF in the previous years now under the control of the government.

“What we want is for Ethiopia to prevail and I have no doubt that we’ll succeed,” he said.
