Defense Forces Graduation Ceremony and Special Heroes Ceremony

A ceremony was held at the Defense Headquarters building in Addis Ababa.

The ministry’s new building covers an area of 13,000 square meters and has five floors and more than 700 offices.

It includes meeting halls, libraries, research centers and an organized information center.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, ministers, heads of state, leaders of the Defense Forces and invited guests.

Various military performances are also being held at the ceremony.

The headquarters is located at the former airport in Zone Two of the Armed Forces.

The architecture of the building is inspired by Ethiopian psychology and philosophy, and is seen as a weapon and shield; This reflects the role of the Defense Forces in protecting the country.

Field Marshal Berhanu Jula said during a meeting with Fana Broadcasting Corporation that the former Defense Forces building is no longer suitable for the current defense and technology-intensive work.

Field Marshall said the former building offices were narrow and inconvenient and did not meet modern technology.
