319 trucks of humanitarian cargo entered Tigray

  • 319 trucks of humanitarian cargo entered Tigray during the reporting week, the highest number of trucks entering the region in a single week since June 2021.
  • Between 1 April and 16 May, around 15,500 metric ton (MT) of food was brought into Tigray. At least 68,000 MT are still required to complete the current food distribution cycle.
  • Seeds and fertilizers to farmers in Tigray are urgently needed as the Meher planting season (from May to early July) will start soon.
  • Between 2 to 7 May, more than 21,300 children under five and more than 14,200 pregnant and lactating women treated for moderate malnutrition in Amhara.
  • In Afar, nearly 100,000 people reached with water trucking services during the reporting week.
