Ethiopia’s taxi hailing service provider Ride partners with Telebirr to provide various services to its clients.

The current partnership will allow Ride drivers to accept payment through telebirr. The drivers will also serve as a focal point to provide different services provided by ethiotelecom including Sim Card selling.

Since its launch telebirr has been the leading digital payment platform with over 18 million users. Telebirr is in the process of acquiring an approval from NBE to provide credit service to its customers.

Based on the signed agreement, in addition to ethiotelecom presence in 694 sales centers nationwide, over 40,000 Ride transport serving drivers will engage in new SIM card sales and providing SIM card replacement services as well as collecting transport fares paid via telebirr
