HIH Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie Haile Selassie, HIH Princess Saba Kebede and advisors to the Crown Council of Ethiopia returned to the United States last week from an official State visit in Panama. HIH Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie and advisors to the Crown Council of Ethiopia attended private meetings and receptions held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism and Mayor of Panama City among other high ranking government officials and prominent business leaders.
We are thankful to the Government of Panama, not only for the special diplomatic courtesy extended to HIH Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie, HIH Princess Saba Kebede and the Ethiopian Delegation, but for its progressive belief and action in positioning African Kings, Queens and Royals front and center in the process of facilitating self-discovery, healing and reconciliation for peoples of African descent.
It is our belief that the process of healing and reconciliation for the purposes of promoting and fostering peace and unity on the basis of a common history and identity starts with education, understanding and an open heart to learn and to forgive. Thus, it is only when we understand, forgive past injustices and reconcile with our history that we can begin to chart a path forward built on mutual trust, confidence and partnership beneficial to all people including the environment in which we live.
