Prizes were given to the members of the delegation that returned from the World Athletics Championship

In the 18th World Athletics Championship, the members of the athletics delegation who returned victorious were presented with an award at the National Palace.

The members of the delegation were awarded from 50 thousand to 1.75 million birr.

According to this, 1.75 million birr was awarded to athletes who won gold medals, 1 million birr to athletes who won silver medals and 700 thousand birr to athletes who won bronze medals.

An additional prize of 250,000 Birr was given to the athletes who improved their records. Even though she did not enter the 10,000 meter medal, the athlete Ejegayew Taye, who made a crucial team effort to win gold for Letesenbet Gedey,and the athlete Letesenbet Gedey received a prize of 500,000 birr each for her team work in the 5,000 meter.

The athletes who traveled as a member of the athletics team, coaches, participating athletes, and athletes who brought diplomas were also given cash prizes of different amounts.

The award was presented by the President of the Federation, Sahlework Zewde, and the Minister of Culture and Sports, Ato Kejela Merdasa.
