A high-ranking delegation of the federal government of Ethiopia led by Speaker Tagese Tafo headed to the city of Mekele in the Tigray region. The delegation was sent to monitor the implementation process of a peace agreement that had been reached in the region, with the goal of ensuring that the main issues outlined in the agreement were being carried out as planned.

This was the first time in two years that a high-ranking delegation from the federal government had traveled to Mekele, and the move was seen as a positive sign that the peace agreement was holding strong. In addition to Speaker Tagese Tafo, the delegation included members of the National Consultative Commission, as reported by the Government Communication Service to the Fana Broadcasting Corporation. The delegation’s visit to Mekele is an important step towards ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.
