The program is scheduled to take place from July 14 to July 17, offering free computer programming classes to Ethiopian students aged 9-18.
The curriculum of the ThinkYoung Coding School will cover various activities, including robotics and drone workshops facilitated by experts. Boeing representatives will share their experiences with the participants to inspire them to pursue careers in aviation and other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
The partnership between ThinkYoung and Boeing has already positively impacted the lives of more than 1,300 young people who participated in the coding schools. More than 60% of participants of previous editions were girls. By breaking stigmas, the program provides girls with role models, early exposure to computer science, and a supportive environment.
The ThinkYoung Coding School aims to support Ethiopia’s vision of equipping 70% of its population with essential digital skills. By empowering young Ethiopians, the program will help them get prepared to succeed in their future careers and to contribute to the country’s technological and economic transformation.

It is to be recalled that the 14th edition of the Think Young Coding School took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where Over 60 teenagers got introduced to coding through the coding schools bootcamp program. The programme is characterized by its innovative approach in a non-formal educational setting, addressing the real needs of both the youth of today and the skills required by the industry. These real-world interactions aim to make learning more approachable and long-lasting. To align the program with labor market requirements and the country’s educational curriculum, students developed their critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
