In a bold move to give Ethiopia access to the sky, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced plans to land on the moon.

“Ethiopia is a landlocked country with a population of over 120 million people,” Ahmed said in a televised address. “We need access to space and the sea in order to grow and prosper.”

Ahmed’s plan is to launch a series of rockets to the moon over the next five years. The first rocket, which is currently under construction, is scheduled to launch in 2024.

If successful, Ethiopia would become the first African country to land on the moon. It would also be the first landlocked country to have access to space.

Ahmed’s plan has been met with mixed reactions. Some Ethiopians are excited about the prospect of their country becoming a space power. Others are concerned about the cost of the project and whether it is a wise use of resources.

“I am very proud of our Prime Minister for taking this bold step,” said one Ethiopian citizen. “It shows that Ethiopia is a country that is moving forward.”

“I am worried about the cost of this project,” said another Ethiopian citizen. “We have a lot of other problems that need to be addressed first, such as poverty and hunger.”

Despite the concerns, Ahmed is determined to move forward with his plan. He believes that landing on the moon will be a major milestone for Ethiopia and that it will open up new possibilities for the country.

“This is a dream come true for Ethiopia,” Ahmed said. “We are finally going to have access to the sky.”

Satirical Commentary

Ahmed’s plan to land on the moon has been met with skepticism by some experts. They point out that Ethiopia is a developing country with a limited budget. They also question whether the country has the necessary expertise to carry out such a complex project.

Despite the skepticism, Ahmed is determined to move forward with his plan. He believes that landing on the moon will be a major propaganda victory for his government. It will also give him something to brag about at international conferences.

In the meantime, Ethiopians are left wondering how they will benefit from landing on the moon. Will it mean lower prices for food? Will it mean better schools and hospitals? Or will it simply mean that Ethiopia has one more thing to be proud of?

Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure: Ahmed’s plan to land on the moon is one of the most ambitious and bizarre projects ever undertaken by an African country.
