Addis Ababa, January 25, 2018 (FMC) — Two ASKY Airlines aircraft that were slightly damaged during an attack in Niger’s capital, Niamey, will be repaired and are expected to return to service soon, according to .
The two Boeing 737 aircraft sustained minor damage during an incident at Niamey airport on Thursday night. No injuries were reported, and the damage did not affect critical systems, the airline said.
ASKY Airlines noted that the aircraft are leased from international lessors and are registered with the , under Ethiopian Airlines’ technical and operational oversight.
A technical team has been dispatched to assess the damage and oversee repairs. Preliminary inspections confirmed that the damage is minor, and the aircraft will be repaired before undergoing final safety checks prior to resuming operations.
