MIDROC Investment Group reported total sales of 65.99 billion birr in the first half of the 2025/26 fiscal year, exceeding its target and recording a 71 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to a statement from the conglomerate.

The group reviewed its half-year performance at the Sheraton Addis, a Luxury Collection Hotel. The report showed that the company achieved 176 percent of its profit target, marking a 95 percent year-on-year increase. During the same period, MIDROC paid more than 18.4 billion birr in agricultural expenses and other government obligations, up 166 percent from the corresponding period last year.

MIDROC also generated more than 155 million dollars in foreign exchange from products and services supplied to international markets during the first half of the fiscal year. This represents a 53 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Chief Executive Officer Jemal Ahmed said the results recorded across all sectors were encouraging, while stressing the need for greater focus on marketing, production, and cost reduction. He noted that the group will prioritize projects that strengthen institutional effectiveness by improving project implementation and operational systems.

Jemal also said MIDROC had completed high-quality projects across multiple sectors that would make the country proud, with several commissioned during the first six months of the fiscal year. He called on the group’s management teams to act proactively to ensure that major new projects are launched within the fiscal year and completed on schedule.

He reaffirmed MIDROC’s commitment to strengthening its contribution to the national economy by expanding its presence in both domestic and international markets.

During the past six months, two flagship projects — Denby Eco Lodge and the Arjo Coal Production Factory — were inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. MIDROC Investment Group comprises more than 45 organizations operating across six sectors and currently employs more than 80,000 people.
