Addis Ababa Shines in National Exam Results: Highest Pass Rate and Top Performers in Natural Science

According to the recent national exam results, Addis Ababa shines as the highest-performing region in the country with a pass rate of 38.46%. The capital city also boasts the highest number of top performers in natural science, with 117 students scoring 600 or above.

When looking at the number of students who scored 50% or more among those tested, Addis Ababa once again stands out with 19.8% of students passing. The region of Harari also had a high passing rate of 10.5%. On a national level, a total of 29909 (3.3%) students passed.

In the subject of natural science, Addis Ababa had the highest number of top performers with 117 students scoring 600 or above. Amhara and Oromia regions also had strong showings with 70 and 51 students respectively. The smallest number of top performers came from South, Harari, Dire Dawa, and Sidama regions, with only 10, 1, 2, and 8 students respectively.

The subject of social science had fewer top performers, with only 10 or more students from each region scoring 500 or above. Amhara, Addis Ababa, and Dire Dawa had the highest number of top performers with 1, 8, and 1 students respectively.

There were also 7 schools that had 100% passing rates, including Desse Special Boarding School, Bahir Dar Steam School, Gondar Community School, Wolayita Sodo Lika School, and Adama Oda Boarding School.

Mikias Adane, a student from Dese Special Boarding School in Amhara Region, with a score of 666 achieved the highest score of the year.

Overall, the national exam results show that Addis Ababa and Harari regions had the strongest performances, with a high pass rate and a large number of top performers in natural science. While other regions also performed well, these two regions stood out as the top performers in the country.
