Kenya and Rwanda Allow Visa-Free Entry for All Africans, While Ethiopia Becomes More Unfriendly to Its Own Citizens

In a recent move that has been welcomed by many Africans, Kenya and Rwanda have announced that they will be allowed visa-free entry to all African citizens. This means that Africans from all over the continent will be able to visit Kenya and Rwanda without having to go through the lengthy and often expensive process of obtaining a visa.

This is a significant development, as it will make it much easier and more affordable for Africans to travel and explore other parts of the continent. It is also a sign of the growing cooperation and integration between African countries.

In contrast to Kenya and Rwanda, Ethiopia has been becoming increasingly unfriendly to its own citizens. There have been numerous reports of extortion, kidnapping, ethnic profiling, and war-related violence. This has made it difficult and dangerous for people to move around the country.

The Ethiopian government has been criticized for its failure to protect its citizens. Some observers have accused the government of being more concerned with maintaining its power than with the well-being of its people.

One particularly concerning example of this is the recent blocking of ethnic Amhara from entering Addis Ababa. The government justified this by claiming that it was necessary to thwart a coup attempt. However, many people believe that this is simply an excuse to target and discriminate against the Amhara people.

The Amhara people are one of the largest ethnic groups in Ethiopia, and they have been marginalized and persecuted for many years. The recent blocking of Amhara from entering Addis Ababa is just one more example of this discrimination.

The contrast between Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia is stark. While Kenya and Rwanda are moving towards greater openness and integration, Ethiopia is becoming more isolated and inward-looking.

It is hoped that the decision by Kenya and Rwanda to allow visa-free entry to all Africans will encourage other African countries to follow suit. This would create a more open and interconnected Africa, where people can move freely and explore different cultures.

It is also hoped that the Ethiopian government will take steps to improve the security situation in the country and to protect its citizens from harm. Ethiopia has a rich history and culture, and its people deserve to live in a country where they can feel safe and secure.
