Federal police arrested several suspects pretending to be Federal police

The Federal Police arrested several by the strictly monitoring individuals who have been organized by illegal bodies and operating with false documents pretending to be Ethiopian Federal police  special members.

The suspects were armed with also illegal weapons and fake police IDs in various parts of Addis Ababa. Police have arrested them and are investigating.

Police, on the other hand, found that the individuals were involved in further criminal activities, using fake IDs and photographs of former Ethiopian Federal Police uniforms to confuse the public.

According to police, the suspects were operating as members of the Federal Police Special Investigation Unit, which had been operating in various businesses, harassing the business community and stealing money and mobile phones.

The IDs used by the suspects are very different from the IDs currently used by the Ethiopian Federal Police, and police are intensifying their investigations to find out more about the weapons and money seized.

The investigation was intensified by allegations that the suspects were involved in an organized crime and that they had accomplices. Police assured that they would continue to take strong legal action with the Addis Ababa police and other security agencies.

Police are urging the public to be aware that there is no such thing as a special police force in the Ethiopian Federal Police, and to work with the security forces to protect themselves from such scammers.
