The Peace Envoy, led by His Holiness Abune Mathias, Patriarch of Ethiopia, has returned to Addis Ababa. The Holy Patriarch and members of the Peace Mission were welcomed by the President of the Tigray Region Provisional Administration.

It will be remembered that, according to the decision of the Holy Synod, they provided support of 20 million birr to the displaced people due to war. However, when the Holy Patriarch arrived in the region, he was not given any kind of spiritual welcome or blessing ceremony by the blessed fathers, priests, or Sunday school members in the Tigray region. Instead, the Holy Patriarch, His Holiness the Pope, and even the elders of the country were forced to pray the covenant prayer at the closed door of the church.

The peace delegation has been trying to meet with the holy fathers in Tigray and discuss with them for months, but their efforts have been unsuccessful due to various reasons.
