Gedu Andargachew Becomes Ethiopia’s Sixth Foreign Minister Under EPRDF Leadership

The house of people representative confirmed the nomination of three ministers forwarded by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. According to the appointment, Oromia regional president Lemma Megeressa has been appointed as Defence Minister replacing Aisha Mohammed. Outgoing defense minister Aisha Mohammed took the position of city development and construction minister.

The foreign minister position which has been vacant for nearly two months is filled by former Amhara regional president Gedu Andargachew. Gedu Andargachew will become the sixth foreign minister to claim the position under EPRDF leadership.
